About Raj

I run independent research on how intelligence emerges — and sometimes collapses — in teams, organizations, biological systems, and human-AI partnerships. My current work sits at the intersection of philosophy of mind, multi-scale cognition, AI alignment, and computational theories of agency.

I got here by spending 30 years spanning technology, law, and business. I started six companies, practiced IP law in Silicon Valley, did over $440M in sales transactions and $2B in M&A. I have a degree in computer science and wrote a book on process engineering for an AI-first world.

My grandparents were photographers, and it might be genetic: I’ve been taking photos since I was a teen (that’s a long, long time ago). You can see some of my photography here.
